Care, coaching and connection for pastors and other ministry leaders.

Along with many times of great joy, I have also been through much turmoil and darkness in my tenure as a pastor. I believe that God now wants to use what he has taught me through these experiences to encourage and fortify other pastors and ministry leaders.

The mission of The Shepherd’s Refuge is to provide care, coaching, and connection for pastors in active ministry and those between ministry postings.

Even under normal conditions, pastors face high levels of stress and burnout due to the demands of the job. They carry the emotional burdens of a congregation and often deal with multiple challenges at once, leaving limited opportunities for personal development and renewal.

Many pastors leave their posts prematurely, debilitated by difficult experiences they are unable to endure. As high as 42 percent of pastors have contemplated leaving full-time ministry, risking a loss that the church simply cannot afford.

The care, coaching, and connection offered by The Shepherd’s Refuge will help reduce ministry attrition rates and fortify pastors to continue their vital activities.

Many pastors lead without friends, confidantes, mentors or counsellors. This is not a recipe for health! Pastoring can indeed be lonely, but you don’t have to lead alone.
